Lagos - Nasarawa United further enhanced their continental
ambition with a 2-1 victory at Bayelsa United with Lobi Stars earning a 2-1 win
at home to sinking Kwara United.
News24 picks the team of the week 33 in a 4-3-3 formation.
The goalkeeper is hitting a purple patch just in time for
the business end of the campaign. Nasarawa United won thanks to his heroics.
Firstly he saved a penalty from Opubo Japhet in the 25th minute, then
single-handedly kept his side in the game with five decisive saves, two of
those miraculous. Did brilliantly well, and must be applauded for his efforts.
Odinga Odinga [Sharks
The Sharks legend set up the opener after three minutes with
a perfect centre. He foiled the attacking forays of Wikki Tourists and was
uncompromising in the discharge of his duties.
Lawal Shittu [Giwa
Struck with a cool finish for the hosts. Made sure nothing
got past him and closed down any potentially dangerous movements from the
visitors, whose all-too-obvious attacking efforts proved to be predictable.

Ossai Uche [Warri
Leading a solid back line he was always negating any
problems from Rangers. Whether defending balls into the area or making
clearances, he won his battles in the air and on the ground throughout with
He might be built like a tank but he can also move like a
Ferrari and his strength and pace was too much for Shooting Stars as he limited
them to few chances in his zone of influence. He imperiously commanded his back
line, won balls and was best seen when he netted the winner for the leaders.
Yusuf Adio [Akwa
Adio put in a monstrous performance against Abia Warriors.
He created panic with a terrific screamer that sailed to the waiting net. Had several
more attempts on goal that was blocked. His all-round contribution was very
crucial for the Promise Keepers.
Dare Ojo [Kwara
The young Kwara United midfielder is clearly destined for a
bright future. He put in yet another star performance against Lobi Stars in the
Harmony Boys' 2-1 loss. His sheer desire kept the home team occupied
throughout. His thunderbolt to the roof of the net from a free-kick was his 7th
of the season.
Anyu Ishaya [Nasarawa
The midfielder was pivotal in the middle for the Solid
Miners, and had a near-flawless game, with two goals and a 95 per cent pass
accuracy. He is in fantastic form at this crucial stage of the season.
The winger's pace and intelligence caused all sorts of
trouble for Enyimba. He also had efforts on target blocked, while two
thunderbolts whizzed just over the bar. His equalizer was simply world class.
The sparkling striker had several showstoppers to savour
including a goal for the Pride of Benue. Left the Kwara United defence like
NPFL chairmen trying to agree on the Ultra problem, utterly confused.
A real terror in attack he was always in the right place at
the right time, a Rottweiler up against Andrex puppies. The forward showed his
potent percentages. His strike was well taken. For
