Abuja - Following a Sunday of superb goals in the Nigeria Professional Football League, News24 selects the best XI for Week 13.
Friday Achimugwu [Giwa FC]
Hardly to blame for the well-taken equaliser by Ifeanyi Egwim yet if not for his superb saves, brilliant blocks and courageous clearances, the visitors would have conceded more. Resourceful.
Ndifreke Effiong [Abia Warriors]
A solid performance climaxed by arguably the goal of the season. He rocketed the ball past the keeper from the flank. Powerful.
Nojeem Raji [Giwa FC]
As commanding and unyielding as the private pilot repelling all boarders, the former Enyimba defender made a handful of interceptions and clearances while negating the opposition at almost every turn.
Emmanuel Anyanwu [Enyimba FC]
Led the back-line, had the most touches and the best pass rate of any defender while making several clearances, a few important interceptions and crucially blocked a menacing shot on target.
Halilu Obadeki [Kwara United]
Worked excellently down the left with his quality crosses and skills. One of his forays upfront led to Kwara United's only goal. His left-wing cross was poked home by Segun Alebiosu.
Sani Kaita [Ifeanyi Uba FC]
Completely ruled the midfield and put up a combative performance. He foiled Elkanemi Warriors and also made several key passes.
Paul Onobi [Sunshine Stars]
Onobi hustled around the pitch leaving Kano Pillars clueless. Scored a brilliant header.
Dayo Ojo [Sunshine Stars]
Always looking to menace, the midfielder was a hive of creativity and caused problems throughout. He netted a spot-kick to cap a brilliant show.
Solomon Eludi [Ifeanyi Uba FC]
Took control of the opposition upfront and refused to give them any room or chance to progress down field. Caused problems up front, scoring a double.
Godwin Obaje [Wikki Tourists]
Was a constant problem for the visiting defence with his clever running and superb control. The former Mighty Jets forward grabbed a brace and was a phobia to Sharks defenders.
Bright Onyedikachi [Ifeanyi Uba FC]
Always alert, the intelligent forward was full of running and forever exploited space in the opposition half. Set up attempts for others while scoring two well taken strikes. Inspiring.
