NPFL week 12 wrap

Abuja - Enyimba climbed to the top of the table following a 2-0 victory over Heartland in the week 12 of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba.

Goals from Chinonso Okonkwo and Christian Obiozor earned bragging rights for the home team in the ''Oriental Derby''.

The six-time league winners are now placed 1st on the league log with 22 points, four points more than the Naze Millionaires.

A late strike by Abdulrahman Bashir handed Lobi Stars a 2-1 win over Nasarawa United at the Aper Aku Stadium.

Akleche Enokela scored to put his side ahead but Ugochukwu Leonard pulled parity for the Solid Miners through a well taken strike after good work from Esosa Igbinoba.

But Bashir’s wonder strike prevented Nasarawa United from grabbing a point in Makurdi.

Shooting Stars put up a spirited performance to secure a 0-0 draw against Bayelsa United at the Oghara Township Stadium.

The Oluyole Warriors currently lie 15th with 12 points, one point more than the Restoration Boys.

Abia Warriors suffered a heart-breaking 1-0 defeat to Rangers International at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu.

Chisom Egbuchulam netted the game’s only goal in the 90th minute to hand the Flying Antelopes the much needed win, which is their 4th of the season,

Goals from Olewezi Johnson and Friday Ubong handed Akwa United a 2-1 victory over Kwara United, whose goal was netted by Babalowa Azeez in the 90th minute.

Elsewhere, a solitary goal from Eludi Solomon handed Ifeanyi Uba FC a 1-0 victory over Dolphins, while Elkanemi Warriors grabbed a 0-0 draw at Sharks.
