Nasarawa prepared for new season

30 October 2013, 14:34

Abuja - Isaac Danladi, the chairman of Nasarawa United FC, said on Tuesday that the club was fully prepared for the 2013/2014 Globacom Premier League scheduled to kick off nationwide on November 22.

Danladi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the club was not only prepared for the league, but was determined to improve on its performance in the just-concluded season.

NAN reports that Kano Pillars FC won the league which was concluded on October 20, while Nasarawa finished 13th on the league table with 52 points from 38 matches.

"Preparation continues because we intend to put everything in order before the league commences.

"The management is meeting and by the time the league kicks off, all our plans will be executed in full force,’’ Danladi said.

The Nasarawa FC boss was, however, skeptical regarding the November 22 league season kick off date.

"The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) must have its Annual General Meeting (AGM) before a date for the next season will be picked, and the AGM will hold on November 28.

"So, Nov. 22 is not feasible; we cannot start the league a week to the (sic) AGM,’’ Danladi said.

He said the proposed date for the take off of the league would require the ratification of the AGM.
