Lagos - The Nigeria Nationwide League (NNWL) has sealed a
contract with Standard Alliance Insurance Company as official insurer of
players in the lower tier.
The NNWL announded the deal after its 2013 Annual General Assembly.
According to a press release made available to News24
Nigeria by secretary of the body, Olushola Ogunnowo, the mandatory comprehensive
insurance policy for all the league clubs and endorsement of Standard Alliance
Insurance Company as official insurance company was a high point of discussion.
According to Olushola, a benefit of 250 000
naira will pay out for death, 250,000 naira for permanent injuries and 20,000 naira for
The mandatory medical check-up for all Nationwide League
Club players and officials to be supervised by the league medical officer, Dr.
Olajide Adebola, was also agreed upon.
