News24 Glo League Team of The Week 26

02 September 2015, 16:20

Lagos - A goal-laden round of Nigeria Professional Football League fixtures gave News24 a selection headache when compiling the Week 26 Team of the Week.

Godwin Ayalogu [Dolphins FC]

The goalkeeper was a one-man army, doing everything possible to keep a clean sheet with continuous supply of world-class stops. His penalty save highlighted a wonderful day for the former Rangers shot stopper.

Chinedu Udoji [Enyimba International FC]

Was back to his domineering best against Sharks FC. Won all of his aerial battles with outfield opponents and refused to be infiltrated on the deck. It was a commanding display by the People's Elephants skipper.

Zoumana Doumbia [Heartland FC]

A prominent performance and at times made the Warri Wolves forwards look as clumsy as Laurel and Hardy pushing a grand piano up a narrow staircase. A slow start but gradually became a rock at the back.

Aminu Mbai [Giwa FC]

The defender proved a thorn in the flesh of Lobi Stars' back-four with his direct runs and defensive contributions. He the joint-highest tally in the match, before heading home the clincher.

Nnamdi Anyasodo [Enugu Rangers]

The left-back made crucial interventions and asserted full control over his flank. He showed quality as usual for the Flying Antelopes.

Razaq Aliyu [Enyimba International FC]

Was everywhere, blocking shots, destroying any build-up play and a more than effective defensive shield in front of his back four. Won all his aerial battles and played a major part from his central midfield spot.

Amos Gyang [Giwa FC]

Pulled all the strings in the middle of the park as Giwa proceeded to score two late goals against Lobi Stars. His assists were world class. He hit 90 per cent of his 58 passes to his teammates.

Enete Chebem [Enugu Rangers]

Chebem played a starring role against Elkanemi Warriors, despite the Borno Army's eventual comeback. He scored the second goal for Rangers and single-handedly caused all sorts of troubles for the home side.

Chinedu Ohanachom [Elkanemi Warriors]

His direct play was pivotal to Elkanemi Warriors' two-all draw against Rangers, constantly catching the eye with his strong running and dangerous deliveries. Capped his display with a brace.

Ugochukwu Leonard [Nasarawa United]

He delivered two well taken strikes, the first from open play and the second from the penalty spot. He was a class act and showed why he is highly-rated on the domestic scene.

Sunday Adetunji [Shooting Stars]

The performer of the weekend, his pair of finishes saw off Abia Warriors. He bullied the away side's defence with his classy touches and power.
