07 July 2015, 11:08

Lagos - News24 selects the top performers in the match-day 16 of the Glo Premier League.

Suraj Ayeleso [Kwara United]

The goal minder was integral to Kwara United sneaking away with a point defying all and sundry with a succession of brave and classy saves. He was totally commanding and assured.

Ndifreke Effiong [Abia Warriors]

Did not allow the Enyimba forwards much space. Not afraid to move out of his comfort zone and was rewarded with a cracking goal.

Nnamso Edo [Akwa United]

He had the best pass rate and with four shots on target. He scored the opener from the penalty spot while never neglecting his defensive duties

Kabiru Ayinde [Kwara United]

He controlled the defence and was impeccable in his tackles. Always aware of FC Taraba's forwards, he was consistently in the right place at the right time to halt any attacks.

Abdulbasit Shittu [Nasarawa United]

An outstanding performance by the defender for the Solid Miners. Making use of his physique, the agile defender made sure he kept the homers attackers well under check.

Azubuike Okechukwu [Bayelsa United]

Azubuike ruled the midfield winning balls and having the most touches. Almost scored twice, especially with a sensational long-range free kick. He was full of quality throughout the match against Wolves.

Rabiu Ali [Kano Pillars]

The warrior was back to his best exploiting and attacking with all the zeal of Anthony Hopkins’ character in Silence of the Lambs.

Tunde Adeniji [Sunshine Stars]

Always imaginative with the ball and directed the play. Was there to put pressure on the opponents, no wonder his goal came as no surprise.

Ocheme Edoh [Giwa FC]

Always made himself available and put in several dangerous crosses while linking up the various departments most elegantly. Effortlessly cruised throughout the game.

Christian Obiozor [Enyimba FC]

The former Rangers star was once again on target for Enyimba. His goal was well-taken. Some has argued that his disallowed goal should have stood. The lanky man was full of quality in the star match.

Mubarak Umar [Wikki Tourists]

Like a Colombian version of human Kryptonite he simply burned through the Dolphins defence with ease. He crowned a great performance with a superb finish.
