Lagos - Nigerian defender Ovye Monday Shedrack, who plays for Milsami-Ursidos in the Moldovan Premier League is dreaming of taking his career to the next level.
Shedrack was close to sealing a loan move to Granada before the deal was turned down by his FC Milsami side in August.
The 22 year-old recalls that moment, and revealed that he still nurse the dream of playing in Spain.
“I had a trial at Granada, and while in Spain, my club has played three games in the new 2014/15 season (one win, draw and loss each) and my coach asked me to return to Moldova to help my club.
“On return I requested that my coach should allow me to go on a year loan at Granada, but the coach said he knows if given the privilege I will play, promising that he will give me playing time at Milsami, and since then we’ve lost just one, drew two and won ten matches.” He told News24 Nigeria.

“I had a challenge with my former coach (Georgi Yartsev) who doesn’t play me. I even tried moving to another club at the end of the season after complaining to the president, but my club later sack the coach. And the new one has been featuring me in games.
“But I really want to play in Spain, I was disappointed that I did not complete the loan move to Granada, Moldova is a good country, but when it comes to football, Spain is a bigger and better place to play.
“When Granada brought the contract for me to sign the loan, because they wanted me on a year loan with an option of paying them off, my club director turned it down, I felt so bad that I’ll still remain in Moldova.
“But I have to take it in good fate, maybe that’s how God want it to be. Good enough I’ll be playing at the Europa Cup, and am on a two-year contract till 2016.”
He added that if given the chance, he’ll be glad to represent Nigeria at international level.
“If I get an invite to the national team, I’ll gladly oblige. I’ve played with Sani Kaita in Moldova, and a lot of people know how my performance is, so I’ll be ready to represent my country if given the chance.”
