Lagos - New Union Esportiva Cornella signing Kenechukwu
Uchenwa has explained why he left Mallorca after spending close to six years at
the Iberostar Stadium.
He saw his first team opportunities limited at the Segunda
Division side and was only able to represent the reserve team of Mallorca in
the third-tier before he severed his ties with the club.

''I have signed a one year deal with UE Cornellá, Segunda
Division B, in Barcelona. I left Mallorca because the new director of sports
said I am not in his programs for the first team,'' Kenechukwu Uchenwa told
''So I had to terminate my contract with them, that's why I
signed for Cornella and it's a good team whereby if I have a good season it
will be easy for other clubs to sign me.''
Kenechukwu Uchenwa is a defensive midfielder by trade but
has vowed to score goals for UE Cornellá in their bid to gain promotion to the
''I want to have a good season and help my new club finish
in a top level in the league and to score many goals,'' he added.
The 24-year - old Uchenwa will wear the number 8 kit for the
remainder of this season.
