Nigerian star pleased with five-star showing against Mjondalen

03 August 2015, 16:17

Oslo - Odd Grenland winger Chukwuma Akabueze has admitted that his performance against Mjondalen in the Norwegian Tippeligaen on Sunday was one of his best since his arrival in Norway in 2007.

With the scoreboard reading 3-2 in favour of the visitors, the out-of-favour Nigeria international netted his fourth goal of the season and was involved in the goals scored by Ole Halvorsen as Odd romped to an emphatic 6-3 win.

''I think what contributed to the scoreline is that Odd is always an offensive team, we always try to attack as much as we can,'' said Chuks Akabueze to news24.

''I think it's one of my best games of the season so far, I was really glad yesterday with my form.''

Three months before the end of the season, Odd Grenland are challenging for honours on three fronts, including the Europa League, and Bentley has confessed that the games are coming thick and fast.

''To be honest it is not easy but the most important thing is to try to put the body in order after every game, ''he concluded.

Chukuma Akabueze and Odd Grenland will welcome Elfsborg to the Skagerak Arena on Thursday in the Europa League.
