Nigerians may be shut out of viewing the Super Eagles on television during the coming World Cup and AFCON qualifiers, if reports from MTN Football are anything to go by.
Football fans were disappointed when they could not watch the match against Rwanda, when the Super Eagles played a goalless draw. But their disappointment could be long term, as the nation's broadcast sponsors, Supersport and AIT, have rejected the new clumsy broadcast arrangement of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Under the new arrangement, TV rights for qualifying matches are domiciled with CAF, unlike in the past when the various FAs own such rights.
