“We are very happy for Odion Ighalo, who was part of the last couple of friendly matches played by the Super Eagles (against Uganda and South Africa). The English Premiership is a great platform to be, and he can only become an even better player,” NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi said.

Ighalo, who also represented Nigeria at U-20 and U-23 levels, contributed 20 goals to the Hornets’ success and played 65 minutes of Saturday’s win. His replacement, Matej Vydra scored the second goal for Watford. Troy Deeney scored the first goal.
