Lagos - Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has told News24
that Jude Odion Ighalo remains in his plans, despite not including the striker
in his list of 18 invited overseas based players for next month’s Africa Cup of
Nations qualifier against Tanzania.
Reactions have trailed the surprise exclusion of Ighalo from
the list, which has newcomers, Izunna Izuchukwu and Sylvester Igboun.
Speaking after his first training session as the Super
Eagles coach, Oliseh says he only needs two players for a position and couldn't
have invited Ighalo at this time.

"Odion Ighalo is in our plans," Oliseh said,
"It's just that for this first game against Tanzania, we are inviting only
two players for every position.
"We need competition into these positions and its
useless bringing three professionals, pay their flight tickets and everything;
three strikers and not be able to use two or three of them.
"So in that way also I think we have to take time but I
think also we have some heavyweights in Emenike and Ujah in that position and
if need be we might need to play the two of them," Oliseh added.
