Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has attempted to explain his decision to omit
in-form Watford of England striker Jude Odion Ighalo from his list of invited
overseas based players for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against
made public on Monday, the much awaited list of overseas based players for the
game against Tanzania with several new players invited and several other
players returning to the team after some time out, but Ighalo’s name
Oliseh has explained the reason why he decided against including the 26-year
old from his team.

Ighalo is a fellow Nigerian but we cannot invite everybody at the same time. We
can only play eleven players at once and we have two other strikers and we’re
going to try everybody but let’s see the ones we have now,” Oliseh said.
list of invited overseas based players was greeted with mixed reactions, with
pundits questioning the exclusion of Ighalo, who appears to be the most in-form
Nigerian striker at the moment.
