Onazi Wants To Make 'Serious Impact' In The Champions League

04 July 2015, 16:11

Lagos - Nigeria midfielder Eddy Ogenyi Onazi is looking to make 'some serious impact' in the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League, he has told News24.

The 22-year was on the scoresheet on the last day of last season, as he helped SS Lazio return to the world's biggest club competition, and ahead of the new season, he says he has already set his sights on featuring in the competition.

"I'm really excited about the prospect to be honest, I'm really looking forward to making some serious impact when it begins.

"It's going to be another long season and I pray to stay injury free because I really want to play as much as possible.

"I want to be there for my team when they need me and I pray we will have another successful season."

The Nigerian international has played in the Europa League with Lazio in previous seasons, but says the forthcoming season might be his biggest.

"I think it could be my biggest season because we're going to have the Champions League, the Serie A, and the Copa Italia.

"It's going to be a big season and it might be my biggest. I just have to work hard in training and keep proving myself to the manager and hopefully everything will go well," Onazi added.
