Orji slams hat-trick as Ferencvaros destroys Viktoria

21 September 2015, 12:23

Abuja - Ebere Orji scored a hat-trick as Ferencvaros TC thrashed Viktoria FC 7-2 to maintain their form at the top of the Hungarian NB I on Saturday.

Victoria raised hopes of an upset when Cecilia Rozsa cancelled Orji's 35th minute opener seven minutes before half-time.

The home side lost any momentum gained by the quick leveller as the homers hit back quickly through Orji, who capitalized on space offered to her by picking out the top corner with a strike from the edge of the box in the 42nd minute.

Ferenvaros moved further ahead just two minutes into the second half when Orji completed her hat-trick.

A 4-1 50th minute lead was secured when Black Queens star Elizabeth Addo travelled forward with the ball before scoring her first goal of the match.

Ferenvaros' perfect game ensured that they could relax and they were gifted a fifth goal when the influential Csilla Krascsenics
scored for them.

Chances continued to arrive on a regular basis and the visitors were powerless to prevent the Viktoria attack from finding space as Zoe Magyarics reduced the deficit on a miserable day for the homers.

It was Addo who had the final say, though, as she bagged two more goals for a treble for herself too.

“I bless God for the three goals, it was due to His grace that I was able to achieve this feat,” an elated Orji told News24 shortly after the away match.

The ex-Bayelsa Queens star also congratulated Black Queens' talent Addo.

“I'm so happy for Elizabeth Addo, she also contributed her quota in the victory. Congratulations to her for also netting a hat-trick like myself.”
