Abuja - Nigerian champions Kano Pillars were involved in a brutal auto crash on Thursday, a day after they were sent out of the 2013 Federation Cup by Warri Wolves.
The accident occurred in Ganganrida in Kaduna State where Kano Pillars were making their way back to Kano from Ilorin after losing 0-3 to Warri Wolves.
Pillars' vehicle had a tyre burst before colliding with a trailer parked by the roadside. The collision instantly killed a mechanic at the scene.
All the players in the team are currently in stable condition, but head coach oMohammed Baba Ganaru is at present in a critical condition.
