Cape Town - Arsenal already have three Germans in their squad and according to Lukas Podolski they’re about to add a fourth.
Sami Khedira warmed the bench most of last season at Real Madrid and throughout the FIFA World Cup, rumours were rife as to where the German might end up this season despite Los Blancos offering him a new contract.
A deal to Arsenal could happen for £24m, but Khedira’s wage demands are slowing down the process as the Gunners’ are not willing to match the midfielders salary expectations.
During Germany's World Cup triumph homecoming in Berlin, Khedira was asked where he will be playing next season - and Podolski offered help by yelling out “Arsenal!”
