Abuja - The City of David (COD) United FC of Lagos, on Thursday expressed optimism that the team would play in the Nigeria Professional League next season.
The Team Manager, Victor Akinmoio, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the team had been working toward achieving the feat.
Akinmoio said: "We are going to acquire six or seven players who have played in the professional league to strengthen our team because of their experiences."
NAN reports that the club established in 2007 is currently playing at the Nigeria National League (NNL), the second tier of football leagues.
It finished 12th in the Division B of the NNL with 34 points after 26 matches.
No date has been fixed for the commencement of the 2013/2014 NNL season.
