Rabiu Ibrahim eye more games with Eagles

20 June 2015, 21:14

Abuja - Super Eagles midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim has told News24 he's looking at earning a regular spot on the team.

The 24-year old earned a recall to the Super Eagles on the back of a very positive season with his Slovakian club, AS Trencin, and had an impressive display when he was introduced in the second half of Nigeria's 2-0 win over Chad in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last weekend.

And he says he's looking at winning more invitations to the Super Eagles.

"I want to keep working hard and remain fit so as to keep getting calls to the team," he told News24.

"It was a good season for me with my club and if I can keep playing well and training well, I believe the coach will give me more opportunities."

The former Golden Eaglets midfielder also spoke of his contribution to the Eagles as they beat Chad's Le Sao in Kaduna.

"The most important thing for me was the victory which we got. That is all that matters.

"It was a difficult first half but the game changed in the second half and I'm happy with that.

"People have told me that I did well and I appreciate that but the team must surely come first.

"And I believe if I keep doing well and keep working hard, I will get more opportunities," he said.
