Relegation dogfight continues in Glo Premiership

25 August 2015, 12:10Okoro Chinedu

Lagos – The resumption of the Glo Premiership on Wednesday offers Sharks an opportunity to ease their relegation woes.

The elite league strugglers would be aiming to make the most of home advantage when they play Lobi Stars, who are not safe from the axe either, at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt.

The Sharks, who on Sunday beat Bayelsa United 1-0 away from home, have vastly improved in recent games and will consider themselves favourites to maintain that form.

Nonetheless, Stars are smarting from a successful outing this past weekend when they defeated Ifeanyiubah by a similar result.

Sharks are placed 18th on the league table while Lobi Stars are on 14th.

Elsewhere, Ifeanyiubah will be eager to return to winning ways following the narrow defeat Lobi Stars. They have a chance to redeem themselves when they play Akwa United in another Premiership match.

Giwa will host Rangers while 3SC entertain Nasarawa United to complete the Glo Premier League fixture for Wednesday.
