Shooting Stars Firm On Vacant Coaching Role

03 June 2015, 21:30

Abuja - A top Shooting Stars' official has told News24 that the management of the Oluyole Warriors will hire a coach who best fits in with their style of play.

A number of names have been linked with the job, which was made vacant by the sacking of Franklin Howard.

Current Sharks FC gaffer Gbenga Ogunbote is the favorite to bag the job, after growing unsettled at the Garden City sources revealed to News24.

Former Kwara United coach Samson David Unuanel and ex-Sunshine Stars tactician Henry Abiodun are reportedly part of the shortlist which also holds the name of the highly experienced Alphonsus Dike.

The top official told News24: "A couple of guys have been called in to share their philosophy. The one that satisfy the criteria of what we're looking for will get the job.

"We are looking for someone who is going to continue with the culture of football that is played at Shooting Stars. That has to be maintained and the person who gets the job must not interfere with our style.

"I am not going to mention the annointed one,'' the official concluded.
