Sunshine ready to take on 3SC

06 May 2013, 16:36

Akure-  The Head Coach of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, Samuel Abimbola, said on Monday that his team was prepared for the Week 10 match against 3SC of Ibadan on Wednesday.

Abimbola told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akure that the team’s approach to the game had been good and believed in an outcome that would favour his side.

``Our preparation has been good and I am assuring our fans that we are going to Ibadan to get results.

``We approach every game as we should and we always hope for a better outcome.

``We know that 3SC is a good side in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

``And I know also of the rivalry that exists between the two teams but I believe we will get a good result,” he said.

Abimbola also praised Sunshine Stars, its opponent in the Ondo State Federation Cup final that was played on Sunday at the Akure Township Stadium.

NAN reports that Sunshine Stars defeated Tiwa N Tiwa Warriors FC of Ondo town 4-2 to win the state Federation Cup.

Abimbola noted that the Federation Cup was a competition where the smaller teams were always trying to defeat the bigger ones.

He said that if the boys continued the way they played against his team, they would be defeating bigger teams in the future.

``I am happy that we won the Federation Cup and I congratulate the team we played against for reaching the final and I believe they can defeat bigger teams in the future,” he said.

NAN reports that the two finalists, Sunshine Stars and Tiwa N Tiwa Warriors would be representing Ondo State at the national level of the competition.
