Super Eagle bounces back

11 December 2013, 19:00Israel Ojoko

Abuja - Super Eagles winger Ejike Uzoenyi has bounced back to fitness and rejoined the rest of the team on Wednesday as they prepare for the 2014 Championship for African Nations in Abuja.

The Enugu Rangers star was excluded from Tuesday training of the national team due to slight fever.

Though he was not thrown into the fray like the rest of the players, Uzoenyi was able to start light work out and jogging and should be back kicking balls with his mates on Thursday.

The player said he was a lot better than Tuesday and thanked the medical crew for coming to his aide promptly.

There were also minor medical scare for Gbolahan Salami, which the medics alluded to a change in weather, while Barnabas Imenger and Sunday Mba all had slight knocks that were not too serious, as the battle for shirts among the 30 players in camp hot up.

The duo of Dr Ibrahim Gyarang and team physiotherapist, Wale Oladejo assured that there were no worries as they are on top of the situation regarding the health of the entire team. Training, which is once for now till the end of the Youth Games in Abuja, continues today at the FIFA Goal Project site of the Abuja National Stadium.
