Kaduna – Super Eagles debutant William Troost - Ekong was delighted to make his debut for Nigeria in their 2 - 0 victory over Chad in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture staged in Kaduna on Saturday.
''It was great to make my debut, a dream come true, and the three points were the most important and we got that,'' William Troost – Ekong told news24.
''The pitch was difficult but it is the same for the other players so I just had to adapt, same for the climate.''

The FC Groningen loanee was not jittery in his international bow for the Super Eagles and he has thanked his defensive partners for assisting him settle seamlessly into the squad.
''It has been a great team effort and playing alongside Balogun and Omeruo and having Vince (Enyeama) behind me made it easier for me to come in and do well.
''The fans in Kaduna were great! And I have to thank God for this and the big boss for trusting me,'' the 21 year old concluded.
Soon - to - be free agent William Troost - Ekong will return to Holland in the coming days to mull over some offers he has received from clubs based in Holland and United Kingdom.
