Lagos - Super Eagles defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun, has said he is at peace with the decision of the national team’s technical crew not to pick him for the World Cup, since he is recovering from a toe injury he picked up during the Eagles friendly game against Mexico in Atlanta, United States recently.
Speaking to Super Eagles Media Officer Ben Alaiya on phone from Germany, the Fortuna Dusseldorf of Germany defender said it would have been unfair if a player who was just recuperating was picked ahead of a lot of others waiting in the wings.
“I have to be realistic, I had little or no chance of making the World Cup team because I have just started running now. I did five times, three minutes yesterday and today I have done three times, eight minutes and should be back playing in two weeks but that will not get me ready for the World Cup”, he said.
