Super Eagles may play CHAN qualifiers In Kaduna

29 June 2015, 17:41

Lagos - The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will likely host Nigeria’s next CHAN 2016 qualifiers against Burkina Faso in Kaduna.

Kaduna have come under attack lately because of the security situation in Northern Nigeria, but it appears the NFF are comfortable with the state with most of the board members citing the high turnout of fans, as a factor they want games played in Kaduna.

News24 gathered from sources close to the NFF that they already considering moving the October tie to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, same venue that has been picked to host Super Eagles AFCON 2017 qualifiers against Egypt next year.

The Nigeria home base team are not entirely new to Kaduna state as they played their last qualifiers for the 2014 event held in South Africa against Ivory Coast in the state, a tie they won 4-1.

Nigeria’s last campaign at the CHAN championship saw them finish third beating Zimbabwe 1-0 in the losers final.
