Supporters club assured of funds

08 May 2014, 15:34

Abuja - Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Tammy Danagogo, has assured the Nigeria Football Supporters club of funds.

Danagogo who was decorated as a patron of the Association on Tuesday assured them that the N50 million pledge which was made to them by President Goodluck Jonathan is on the verge of being released.

"Ever since I assumed office, I have seen the commitment and dedication of the President to sports and this is manifested in the N50 million he promised to your club," the Minister said.

"Right now, the processing of the money is ongoing, if you do not get the money before the end of this week because of the holiday in Abuja, you will get it latest by next week," he assured

Explaining the necessity of decorating the Minister as a Patron, President-General of the Supporters Club, Rafiu Ladipo stated that the Minister had to be decorated as it may be impossible for President Jonathan who is the Grand Patron of the Association to be physically present in Brazil.
