Helsinki - Taye Taiwo has expressed his delight at making
his debut for HJK Helsinki, but admitted that he will need to adapt to the
Finnish champions artificial pitch.
Having been out of action for 16 months prior to Monday's
game at Sonera Stadium, the Nigeria international proved he was in excellent
physical condition, lasting the distance in the 1-1 draw against HIFK.
''I'm really happy to have come back onto the pitch. I'm
really happy,'' Taye Taiwo told suomifutis.com.
''Coach (Mika Lehkosuo) said that, we have a game on Monday,
and that if I would be ready to play. I replied why not. He asked whether I am
sure, and I said yes.''
