Abuja - Godwin Uwua, the technical adviser of the Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna on Friday
said he had evolved strategies to ensure the club returned to the
Globacom Premier League.
Uwua said in Minna during a training
session at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium that all the technical
strategies to be applied by the team had been worked out.
"We are fully ready, our main aim in this year’s Nigeria National
League (NNL) campaign is to secure promotion to the premier league.
"I tell you, anything short of promotion will not be entertained.
That is our goal. The boys are ready, the fans and supporters are also
ready, just like the management too," he said.
Uwua said he was optimistic that with the calibre of players in his
camp as well as the commitment of the supporters and the management, the
promotion would be achieved.
The coach said that before the re-scheduling of the league to February 15
from January 25, the spirit in the Tornadoes camp was high and the players
were battle-ready for the season.
Uwua, who was former assistant coach to the country’s Super Eagles,
said if the league had commenced as proposed earlier, he could have
known the position of the team by now.
The coach said that he was confident about the prospects of present squad in the NNL.
