Udoji excited with league title prospect

Lagos - Enyimba captain Chinedu Udoji says he is excited with the prospect of winning the 2015 Nigeria Professional Football League.

The central defender has been a key figure for the People's Elephants this season, and has contributed four important goals to their quest of winning the title for the first time in five years.

Speaking to News24, Udoji says he can't wait to put his hands on the title.

"It has been a good year for us in the league and I can't wait to win the league this time," he said. "We have waited for so long to lift this title and thank God we have come this close.

"I'm so excited about it, I can't wait for when we are announced as winners of the league. It will be an interesting day that I can't wait to come."

Enyimba need just a point to seal their 7th league triumph, after beating Abia Warriors 1-0 in Umuahia on Sunday to take their tally to 68 points. Their closest rival, Warri Wolves have 62 points, meaning if Enyimba get even a draw in their next game, they will be crowned champions.

The former African champions host Warri Wolves in Aba in their next game in Aba.
