Aba - Enyimba captain Chinedu Udoji was the hero as the
People's Elephants close in on an 8th league title, after he scored what proved
to be the winner in a narrow win over Kwara United.
The centre-back who has found a new place in the team's
defensive midfield following injuries to key players headed in Ezekiel Bassey's
well taken corner-kick in the 22nd minute that proved to be the match winner.
The goal took the 26-year-old's tally to four in the league,
making him one of the club's leading scorers.
After the draw in Lafia against Nasarawa United last week,
Kadiri Ikhana made four changes to Wednesday's line-up with Andrew Abalogu,
Nzube Anaezemba, Femi Thomas and Ezekiel Bassey restored to the squad while
Peter Onyekachi and Musa Najare led the attack in the 4-4-2 formation.

But it would be Udoji who would make the biggest impact of
the day, just as he did against Wikki Tourists on Match day 31 when he struck a
brace to give the People’s Elephants a 2-0 win.
Kwara United made the afternoon fairly difficult for their
hosts but they didn't do enough to find a way past Femi Thomas on the rare
occasions when they broke free, with their most begging chance a quickly taken
free-kick from the byline after the hour mark.
The introduction of Sokari Kingsley for Najare and Daniel
Etor for Abalogu increased Enyimba's threat late on but the pair missed two
great opportunities and one nil it finished ultimately.
With only three games left in the 2014/2015 league season,
Enyimba continue to lead the pack with 65 points. The team's next fixture will
be a crunch derby against Abia Warriors in Umuahia on Sunday. For
