Ilorin - Kwara United FC coach Samuel Unuanel says he is working to build a formidable team for the future that would be the pride of all people from Kwara.
Unuanel announced this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after his team defeated Enyimba of Aba 1-0 in a week 27 encounter of Glo Premier League in Ilorin on Saturday.
The coach, who expressed satisfaction with his boys’ performance, added that he was already looking forward to the next match against Nembe City of Bayelsa in week 28 in Yenagoa.
Unuanel sad that his top striker, Yahaya Adamu, did not play the match because he just returned from South Africa where he negotiated a contract with a club.
"He is one of our best products, but there are some foreign teams that came for him and in such circumstances, a coach cannot hold him against his wish,’’ Unuanel said.
He said that with the victory, Kwara United moved to the third position on the league table with 44 points from 27 matches
NAN reports that a point is separating the club from the two top teams in the league, but with differences of goals aggregate.
The only goal of the match, played at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin, was scored by Enyimba’s former defender Okey Odita, in the 22nd minute through a powerful header from a corner kick.
