Victory excites FC Taraba

03 August 2015, 15:13

Lagos - Rock bottom FC Taraba (Jalingo) started the second stanza of the 2015 Glo Premier League season on a very positive note after a slim 1-0 win over former table toppers, Sunshine Stars FC on Sunday August 2, 2015.

The Pride of Jalingo haven't seen victory in their favour in their last seventeen league matches but finally breathe a relief of fresh air with a win. After an astonishing start to the season that saw FC Taraba record a win on the road at Akwa United and also sat at the top of the log, the Jalingo based team have struggled, coupled with backlog of salaries owed the players.

That poor form has left them at the base of the log but striker Stephen Adah who scored the only goal of the match informed News24 on how the whole town of Jalingo rejoiced at first seeing the team return home and also picking a vital victory that they felt could activate more positive results.

"I give God all the glory. I'm so glad to have scored again today and this time that goal was enough to help the team secure three points," Stephen Adah told News24.

“It was a huge celebration all over Jalingo, the entire town was full of joy after the win over Sunshine Stars. The fans were so happy to have seen their team return home and also won the match, “said Adah Stephen.

FC Taraba continue their journey to survive the relegation battle in Enugu on August 5 when they face Enugu Rangers who forced Enyimba to share spoils in Aba.
