02 July 2015, 09:48

Abuja - Vitesse Arnhem striker Abiola Dauda, 27, is back in Holland for the start of the pre - season training with the Eredivisie side.

For the time being, the Swedish Nigerian remains committed to Vitesse  and hopes to cement his place in the first team in the new season after falling behind in the pecking order of strikers in the second half of last term.

''I have started pre - season training with Vitesse and it has been good,'' said Abiola Dauda to news24.com.

''My target for the season is to play my way into the team and enjoy playing football again then we will see what happens during the season.

''Hopefully, we will finish in a position better than last season. I'm now in Holland but we'll be traveling to Austria during the pre-season.''

In 2015, Abiola Dauda made only one substitute appearance for Vitesse in their 2 - 0 win over Willem II on February 14.

He refused to comment on whether he would leave The GelreDome before the close of the transfer window.
