Brasília - FIFA has certified the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba
as the venue for Nigeria's opening match with Iran in this summer's World Cup,
KickOff Nigeria reports.
The stadium has been facing a race against time to be
completed, after running into a series of delays due to various construction
issues during its renovation, including a lengthy enforced stoppage after an
investigation in October 2013 into serious safety breaches.
Nigeria will take on Iran in their opening game of the 2014
World Cup on June 16.
