London - Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has included two
Anglo - Nigerian players in his squad list for The Gunners pre - season tour of
Striker Chuba Akpom and attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi have
been given the opportunity to convince
the Frenchman that they deserve a spot in the
first team, with both making Wenger's 27-player roster.
Iwobi, in particular, only made the squad because Alexis and
David Ospina have been granted extended vacations after their participation in
the Copa America while Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky will remain in London
due to injury.

with Arsenal's youth team last term, scoring 12 goals across all competitions
including his first professional hat-trick which came against Stoke U21s in
On the other hand, Chuba Akpom made three substitute
appearances for the Londoners in the Premier League before he was farmed out on
loan to Nottingham Forest towards the end of March to improve his chances of
regular first team football.
Arsenal will play Singapore Select XI on July 15 before they
head back to London, where they will host Lyon and Wolfsburg in the Emirates
