Bauchi - The management of Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi announced the sacking of the club's technical adviser, Yakubu Maidajin, on Monday.
The chairman of the club, Sule Chindo, who spoke through the media officer of the team, Usman Osculator, said Maidajin’s appointment had been terminated for poor performance.
“Following the poor performance of Wikki Tourists FC in some of its home matches, the club’s management, after deliberating on the matter on Monday, decided to relieve the technical adviser of his appointment with immediate effect.
“The chief coach, Abdullahi Pele, has been directed to take charge of affairs of the club and ensure that Wikki Tourists improved on its performance,” he said.
The chairman described Wikki's recent three consecutive defeats at home in the Glo Premier league as unacceptable.
Following the 0 -1 loss to Heartland FC of Owerri on Sunday, the club’s management had placed the players and technical crew on half salary.
