Will John dedicates brace to recuperating mother

15 September 2015, 12:03

Helsinki - Will John has emotionally dedicated his goals against KTP in the Finnish Veikkausliiga on Monday to his mother, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident, and his father.

With his contract with RoPS set to expire in two months’ time, the midfielder has stressed that he is focused on winning the championship and will not allow the uncertainty about his future with the club affect his performances.

''I am dedicating the goals to my mother who is continuing to recover from complications of a car accident from years ago,'' Will John told news24.

''It is to her and my father who I dedicate these goals to.

''I have not made any decisions on what will happen after the season, we are only concentrated on winning the next games.''

Defending champions HJK Helsinki trail table toppers RoPS by two points although they have two games in hand, but John thinks his team have a realistic chance of winning their first league title since the formation of the club 65 years ago.

''It's not a question of realistic or not, this is football. I don't ever step on the field believing my team won't win.

''So realistically, yes of course, I believe we can win the title,'' the ROPS number 19 concluded.
