Lagos - The men’s Federation Cup competition had a new winner on Sunday when Akwa United edged 2003 champions Lobi Stars 2-1 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium to claim the glittering trophy.

Two excellent set pieces by Namso Edo and Awakan Abdulafeez ensured victory for the Akwa boys, who were cheered by a large contingent that included Governor Udom Emmanuel and former Governor Godswill Akpabio.
