Aregbesola lauds Osun FA for winning South West U-13 tourney

Abuja - State of Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola, has lauded the state football association for winning the maiden Nigeria Football Federation South West Under 13 Tournament.

Team Osun won the inaugural South West U-13 Football Tournament held at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.

The four-day programme saw Team Osun winning the event by defeating Team Lagos 4-2 via penalties, after regulation time ended goalless in the finals. Team Ogun emerged third.

Aregbesola praised the leadership quality of Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, (Chairman Osun FA) for running the affairs of the association excellently despite cash crunch.  

At a reception organized for the team at the Office of the Governor, Aregbesola commended the kids determination, commitment, patriotism and soccer artistry which the team displayed in winning the maiden competition.

“I am very happy. We are very proud of your success and I want to congratulate you because you have made us proud.”

“As I am looking at you something struck on my mind that you are talented without a doubt but the talent you have must have been greatly enhanced by the good meal we served you at your elementary school level and one clear advantage that you have above your contemporaries is the fact that you are a product of our elementary schools and you must have benefited from the sumptuous and nutritious meal you are given by the time you are there.”

“I pray that God will support you as you are moving on in your quest for learning and in your quest for achievement and fulfilment in life, I am happy to receive you, it gives me joy and I am very proud to be associated with your success.”

“I congratulate you and hope you continue to aim higher and sustain their winning streak to attain greater heights in future championships,” he said.
