Abuja - Varzim won 2-0 in their week 22 Portuguese Segunda Liga game against Oriental Lisboa on Saturday, with Nigeria striker Stanley Awurum on target.

The hosts easily picked three points against the bottom-placed visitors courtesy of goals from Bruno Moraes and Awurum.

He joined the ambitious club late last season as they navigated their ship up to the Segunda (second division), winning the Third Division championship.

His goals, 25, mostly from against the run of play, propelled Chibuto to finish second on the Mozambican second division log as well as becoming the losing finalists in the FA Cup in the 2013/14 season.

Elsewhere, in the Greek Super League, second half substitute Abdul Ajagun couldn't rescue ten-man Panathinaikos from losing 1- at Panthrakikos Komotini.
