Chelsea considers Ighalo bid

20 January 2016, 13:22

London - English Premier League champions Chelsea are considering a move for Watford striker Odion Ighalo.

Chelsea is the latest of many big clubs across Europe who are interested in the services of the Nigeria international.

Independent reports that Chelsea are considering Ighalo as a replacement for Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao who could be returning to Monaco. Both players are struggling for fitness.

Ighalo is Watford’s highest scorer with 13 goals this season, though the club has struggling in the few games played so far in January.

Reports say manager Guus Hiddink want to ease the pressure off Diego Costa, hence the interest in Ighalo. But Watford has posited that the striker is heading nowhere at the moment, saying he is vital to their campaign in the premiership.

Arsenal and Liverpool are other top clubs in England who are interested in the former Udinese forward.

If the deal pulls through, Ighalo will be joining compatriot John Obi Mikel at Stamford Bridge.
