Christian Chukwu tasks FC IfeanyiUbah on hard work

08 November 2016, 19:30

Enugu - Former Super Eagles Coach, Christian Chukwu, on Tuesday said FC IfeanyiUbah of Nnewi would do well in the 2016/2017 CAF Confederation Cup.

Chukwu, who made the remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Enugu, however, said that the team must work extra hard to make an impact.

The Nnewi-side qualified to represent Nigeria in the competition after winning the 71st Federation Cup 5-4 on penalties in the final match against Nasarawa United on Sunday, after a goalless draw on regulation time.

He noted that the club already has the zeal, followership and financial clout to go through the rigours of a continental competition, but needed to work hard and perfect its tactical discipline.

“I see them doing well if they could make certain things near-perfect especially through hard work.

“The club needed to put a lot of hard work into tactical discipline and be able to understudy their opponents before any match.

“Putting all these things I have mentioned, with the zeal of the proprietor of the club and his supporters, the club’s new found followership and success-hungry players, the club will likely do well.

“However, as a young club, I believe they would also want to make a name in the continent and football world in general,’’ Chukwu, who is the Technical Director of Rangers FC, said.
