Dogara, who assured the team of his support when they threaten to boycott the
quarter final encounter against Denmark, has hailed the heroics of the team for
their 2-0 win against Denmark.

"We pleaded with the team not to boycott the quarter
final match and here we are in the semifinal, we can go all the way and win the
gold medal as was the case in Atlanta 96'. We are about to do it again."
Dogara called on all Nigerians to line behind the team as
they seek to make the country happy under difficult economic times.
"I believe that the ‘can do’ spirit of the average
Nigerian is pushing the team to the highest level and no team can stop us,"
News24 reported that Dogara had sent a passionate appeal to
the national U23 team styled Dream Team V1, not to boycott its quarter final
encounter against Denmark on Saturday, a game the Nigerian side eventually won.
