Dream Team captain wins CAF U23 Afcon MVP

Dakar - Nigeria captain Okechukwu Azubuike has been named the Most Valuable Player by the CAF Technical Study Group for the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal 2015.

The 18-year old, who plays for Turkish side, Yeni Malatyaspor, was the fulcrum of Nigeria’s success at the championship that lasted from 22 November to 12 December 2015.

The West Africans beat Algeria 2-1 in the final to emerge champions of the second edition of the tournament.

The midfielder has also been nominated as one of Africa’s most promising player of 2015 in the CAF Africa player awards, along with U23 teammate, Oghenekaro Etebo.
