Dream Team forward eyes Mali downfall

Lagos - Highly-rated Bayelsa United attacking midfielder Tiongoli Tonbara has stated that the Dream Team VI must start their 2015 CAF U23 African Championship campaign against Mali with victory on Sunday.

Tiongoli is among 21 players that have travelled to Senegal for the competition.

Coach Samson Siasia is leaving no stone unturned his quest to ensure qualification to the 2016 Olympic Games which takes place in Rio, Brazil.

And the Nigeria ace is eyeing victory against the Malians.

“It’s going to be a tough clash but we want to start on a good footing with a win,” Tiongoli told New24.

“We cannot afford any form of mistake. The first match of any tournament is always the most important fixture.

“We have to keep our heads high and return with the scores in our favour.”
