Lagos - Nigeria’s national U23 team will begin its camping
ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in February in Abuja.
Dream Team coach Samson Siasia disclosed that the African
champions will commence preparations for the Rio Olympics in the first week of
According to the Nigeria Football Federation, Siasia
disclosed from his base in the United States where he is currently on vacation,
that himself and his assistants will use the February camping in Abuja to see
if any new player could add value to the team that won the Africa U-23 Cup of
Nations in Senegal in December.

"For now, time is not on our hands and as such, we need
to start work in a bid to present a team that will make Nigerians proud in
Brazil,” he said.
The former Super Eagles coach added that his target, going
to the Rio 2016 Olympics, is to win the gold medal in the men’s football event.
“For me, after winning silver at the 2008 Olympics in
Beijing, my next target is to go all out for gold in Rio, and I strongly
believe we have the players that can achieve this."
Nigeria, Algeria and South Africa will represent African
continent in the men’s football event at the Games.For
