19 January 2016, 13:33Israel Ojoko

Lagos - Enyimba FC will still feature at the 2016 Super Four tournament despite a robbery attack enroute to Kaduna, venue of the event.

Players and officials were robbed of valuables such as phones and cash at Okene, north-central Nigeria, on Monday but no-one was hurt during the incident.

“Enyimba Football Club remains committed to the success of the Super Four and will give our best throughout the tournament, despite how shaken up everyone is,” the club said on its website.

The NPFL Super Four will hold in Kaduna from January 20-24.

Last year, Kano Pillars were attacked by robbers on their way to a league game in the eastern part of Nigeria. Five players, including star striker Gambo Mohammed, were injured after being shot.

Warri Wolves, Nasarawa United and cup winners Akwa United are the other teams who will feature in this year’s Super Four competition.
