Enyimba wait on CAF after Etoile attack

27 April 2016, 10:32

Lagos - Enyimba FC have confirmed that an official complaint has been filed to the Confederation of African Football over unfair treatment meted on the Nigerian club by Etoile Du Sahel in Sousse.

Enyimba defeated the Tunisian club 3-0 in the first leg played in Port Harcourt. But the North Africans recorded the same number of goals in the return leg, a situation that ensured the game went into penalty shootout after extra-time.

Enyimba ended up beating Etoile on penalties to advance to the group stage of the competition, but reportedly suffered attacks from fans of the home team in Sousse.

“We have sent our complaint to CAF, we are still waiting on them to respond to our protest over what we went through in Tunisia,” said club chairman Felix Anyasi Agwu.
